Next stop China!

Next stop China!

Park City 10am –  10th Dec 2013

I can’t believe it’s already time to leave for China, the past few weeks have gone so fast, but at least it shows I must have been busy. The days have been long with plenty of training on and off the hill. Plenty of early starts as well, getting up for spinning class at 6 am as well as jumping in the evening. The weather held out for our training and it started to snow again this last couple of days, just as we are leaving. Worked hard at training to get the most out of the last two days. Thanks to the coaches for supporting me and letting me be first one on and last one off the hill each day.

Managed to get everything in my bag, so my kit is all ready – stoked to have Bern Unlimited on board this season and my new H2O helmet in my backpack. A huge thanks for the hoodie for traveling in…it’s a long way to China. I can’t wait to arrive in China, I haven’t been before so want to do as much as possible while there in between the competitions. I’m hoping to get to the Great Wall! I’m really excited for Beijing comp in the Birds Nest – what a place! I can’t wait to see it. Got to go my ride is here! First stop Seattle.

Seattle 3.30pm

Waiting for the China flight, sat in the airport eating Teriyaki chicken, warming up for Chinese food! Making the most of our last US meal – its definitely going to be different while we’re away – maybe the trick is not to google translate the menu!

The flight has been great so far but the next leg is 14 hours and I need to keep wake to deal with the jet lag. Beijing runs eight hours ahead of the UK so it’s going to be like losing a day. At least when we arrive we’ll be crashing at the Hilton and sleeping as much as possible. I’m aiming to make a video of the trip with one of the US guys while I’m away, including what we see when we get out and about. Time to go and make as much use of Facebook as I can, as I will lose it when we board the flight and no more till we’re back from China. I’ll have to do as the Chinese kids do…it’ll be back to email and photos but its still going to be awesome!
