Ruka Super Continental Cup

Ruka Super Continental Cup

A solid start to the 2014 season for Lloyd Wallace who finished 12th in the Super Continental Cup in Ruka, Finland. This is the first time he has been in the top 50% of an adult competition, performing two double back somersaults with twists. A Super-Continental Cup is ranked between Europa and World Cup. There were teams from Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakstan, Brazil, Britain and Australia

Conditions were difficult with high headwinds and driving snow. The event was held under floodlights as there is almost no daylight up in Lapland in December. Lloyd had a nasty crash in training and broke a ski, but was fine to use a spare ski for the competition.

He scored a personal best of 143 FIS points which will help to move him up the world rankings, and also cement an extra World Cup place for Britain throughout 2014.
